Technology In Homes Program

The program is offered to facilitate older people being supported and connected through the use of technology to their family, friends, essential services and the wider community to maintain their social connection and mental health in the context of social distancing and the COVID 19 pandemic. Priority will be given to those most vulnerable to ensure they are supported.

Please check you meet the following eligibility criteria for consideration:

  1. The applicant must live within the MidCoast Council local government area.
  2. The applicant must be aged 65 years and over (or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people).

If the applicant meets this criteria, they will be placed on a waiting list and contacted by MidCoast Assist to confirm that they are able to participate in the program (please note that due to staffing resources at this time, there may be a 6-8 week waiting period after referrals have been sought).  If the applicant wishes to proceed, they will be required to register and may need to undergo an assessment by MyAgedCare (Phone 1800 200 422).

Applicants will need a 'Social Support Individual' referral from MyAgedCare issued to 'MidCoast Assist - Technology' (this will be explained further in the application below).

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this in person, please don't hesitate to contact MidCoast Assist Technology on AgeingTechnicalSupport@midcoast.nsw.gov.au or call our Ageing Tech Support Help Desk on 02 7955 7068.
