What you'll learn in this workshop:

Connect with family and friends around the world with the Apple FaceTime app. Make audio and video calls from your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch to other iOS devices or even a Mac and anyone else using an Apple device.

FaceTime is easy to use and comes pre-installed with your iPhone, iPad or Mac. In this 60-min workshop you’ll learn how to use FaceTime to make video and audio calls from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You'll also learn how to make group FaceTime video calls, and how to make FaceTime audio calls. And, remember, there’s always our handy printable step-by-step instruction sheets for later reference and to prompt your memory when required.

And, finally, each workshop includes plenty of opportunity for learning from others, whether you have lots of your own questions, or just want to listen to answers to other participant’s questions.

What you need to participate:

Join this Zoomies Event from your own computer or tablet. Otherwise, join with a friend on their computer, or register at your local MidCoast library to join the workshop using a library computer; library staff will help you get connected.

This is an intermediate level workshop course. It is a hands-on workshop for learning to use FaceTime. During the workshop we will use your Apple device to join a Group FaceTime call together. However, the workshop begins on Zoom. There, we’ll cover the basics of getting started with FaceTime, setting up your Apple ID, logging into iCloud, and configuring FaceTime. You should already be comfortable using your iPhone, email and iCloud. To complete the steps in this workshop, you need:

  • An iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Mac with the latest updates
  • A working Apple iCloud account. The addendum has step-by-step instructions
on setting up your Apple iCloud account
  • To complete most steps here, you need to be on a FaceTime call, while you check and adjust your settings.
